Tribute Steve Winwood

Originaire de Birmingham, Steve Winwood, claviériste et guitariste propose un assortiment de musique progressive, soul et rhythm ‘n blues. En  1964, Il a 15 ans lorsqu’il devient membre du Spencer Davis Group avec Spencer Davis (guitar), son frère Muff Winwood (bass), et Pete York (drums). Il forme ensuite Traffic en 1967, avec Dave Mason, Jim Capaldi et Chris Wood. Le groupe produit 7 albums studio jusqu’en 1974. Dans cette période, l’éphémère Blind Faith est crée en 1969, avec Eric Clapton. En 1976, il participe à GO, un album concept du compositeur japonais Stomu Yamashta.  Il se lance enfin en solo en 1977 avec un premier opus éponyme. Le second, en 1980, Arc of a Diver, contient le tube, While You See a Chance. Un nouvel album de Traffic, Far from home, est édité en 1994.  En février 2009, Eric Clapton et Steve Winwood se retrouvent au Madison Square Garden, à New York.
