Tribute Tom Petty

Tom Petty est né à Gainesville, en Floride. Après 2 groupes assez discrets, The Epics, et Mudcrutch, il forme Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers avec un 1er album en 1976, qui contient le single  American Girl. Le 4ème, Hard Promises de 1981 est disque de platine avec un premier duo avec Stevie Nicks. En 1982, Long After Dark contient le magnifique You Got Lucky.  Il s’associe en 1988, avec Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Roy Orbison et Jeff Lynne. 2 opus verront le jour sous le nom  Traveling Wilburys.  Les disques suivants,  Into the great wide open (1991) et Wildflowers (1994) sont des succès critiques et commerciaux. L'album The Last DJ de 2002 est une critique des pratiques de l'industrie musicale, qui impose ses choix de programmation aux stations Radio. En 2005, il anime sa propre émission Buried Treasure sur XM Satellite Radio. Tom Petty est parti trop tôt en 2017, une semaine après la fin de la tournée du 40e anniversaire. Il avait 66 ans.
